Theresa Tumminello - Montclair State University 2020

I’m Theresa Tumminello and I am a rising junior studying Public Relations at Montclair State University. I was born and raised in Roxbury, New Jersey and love the opportunities this state has for myself and those in the communications field.

I have been vacationing to Lake George since I was born and love returning to the lake every year with family and friends. My dream job is to work in the travel industry doing PR and marketing for travel lovers, hotels, airlines, cruise lines, etc. I have been lucky enough to travel to Italy and Bermuda multiple times and have cruised to several Caribbean islands -all in my short 20 years, and hopefully with more to come! The unique culture, food, landscape and people, not to mention the many great photo opportunities they all provide, allow for a once in a lifetime experience with each and every destination. I hope to help other people love to travel just as much as I do.

I’m so excited to be a part of Nicklaus Marketing for the summer and have already gained a great amount of insight into how a real-life agency runs. I’m excited to apply what I learned in the classroom to real-life clients. Working hands on with the team, I am confident that Nicklaus Marketing will give me the tools and real-life experience I need to enhance my customer relation, writing, social media and creative skills.

Hi! My name is Alicia Barillari and I am a rising junior at the University of Maryland. I am a Multi-Platform Journalism major with a minor in Spanish. I am from East Hanover, New Jersey and am definitely a Jersey girl. Upon graduation, I hope to enter the fashion industry and work specifically for a company’s social media team. I have always had a love for fashion and am interested in exploring lifestyle magazines as well.

I love to go to the beach and I am a huge foodie! My family has a beach house in Lavallette and I have been going there since I was little. It will always be my favorite place to go. I also love to go to different restaurants and try different foods in New Jersey and New York. I enjoy being active and participating in 5K runs with friends. I like to be busy, but also love relaxing on the beach with friends and family.

I am really happy and excited to be apart of the Nicklaus Marketing & PR team! I have already learned so much and am looking forward to gaining more experience and knowledge in this field.

Sarah MacDonald - Rutgers University 2019

Hey! My name is Sarah MacDonald and I am rising senior, studying Marketing at Rutgers University – New Brunswick. After graduation I hope to work in brand management. I grew up in Rockaway, New Jersey and have been visiting Morristown since I was a kid.

I spend a lot of my time on the sidelines of football games, on the basketball court, or on the competition mat. I have been cheerleading both for my town and competitively since I was 7 years old and I am currently a captain of the All Girl Cheerleading team at Rutgers University. I feel so lucky that I get to represent and promote my school while doing a sport I love. In my down time I like to hang out with my two sisters. We are best friends and do almost everything together. I also enjoy being outdoors and remaining active.

I’m looking forward to the rest of my summer with Nicklaus Marketing & PR. It feels rewarding to know that real clients see my work and that my contributions are valued. I can’t wait to continue to learn, grow, and gain the skills necessary to be successful post-graduation.

Instagram, with its massive user base, is a simple and effective way for businesses to reach out to potential consumers.  Instagram stories, a relatively new feature on the app, can supplement standard posts by offering additional content in a quick, eye-catching fashion.  For those not familiar with the feature, stories similarly display images, but allow for more creativity in the way of on-image captions and doodles.

MARKETING TO MILLENNIALS

MARKETING TO MILLENNIALS

The millennial generation is often clumped into one, with assumptions that they are tech-savvy, self-absorbed, and overburdened with student debt. While this may be true for some of this group’s members, generalizing Gen Y negatively can cause businesses to miss out on this powerful demographic.
